Since last Thursday I have played hockey three times, as many times as I usually play in a month. On top of that, I scored two game-winners and one game-ender across these three games. Am I ready to hike some 14ers? Absolutely! I just got done with the exhilarating drive across Missouri and Kansas and have made it to Colorado last night. In the lead up to this trip, Capitol Peak has gone from one of the few 14ers I would be ok never hiking to the main focus of the trip. This peak bagging expedition has one other trick up its sleeve, spending more than 18 hours getting acclimated to the altitude! Here is the tentative plan:
- Thursday August 8th – Light hike in the Colorado Springs area
- Friday August 9th – Light hike in the Colorado Springs area
- Saturday August 10th – Head to capitol and hike to capitol lake
- Sunday August 11th – Summit Capitol, live, return to Denver.
- Monday August 12th – Rest
- Tuesday August 13th – Democrat combo
- Wednesday August 14th – Rest day
- Thursday August 15th – Summit a 14er, maybe Evans, Crestone Needle, or Elbert
